Professor Timila Yami Thapa (born A.D. 1951) was educated in Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India and De Montfort University, Leicestershire, UK (master’s degree) in electronics and Information Technology respectively.She had served Tribhuvan University, Nepal, in various roles: as Professor in Electronics and Computer Engineering Department; and later as Assistant Dean when she managed 4 state owned and 10 affiliated Engineering colleges. She had also contributed significantly to the curriculum development of Pokhara University (Pokhara University) where she has also served as a past Senate member. She has a unique combination of being an educator and administrator at Tribhuvan University, national level policy planner as a member of Research Council, UGC (University Grant Commission), an entrepreneur and owner of a Software company, and board member (five years) of a 1400 employee water supply company KUKL ( Kathmandu Upatyeka Khanipani Limited ) where she served both as a board member and later as a Chairperson. She had served as a governing member of Nepal Engineering Council. She had also served as a member in the past in advisory board of Rural Telecommunication Fund Board, Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA ).
She has been actively involved in the social work in child education and women empowerment by volunteering to participate in many organizations. In 2011, she started DHMA (Dharma Heera Memorial Academy- www.dharmaheera.com) to promote child education, empowerment programs for minority groups specially women, skill development of youth and services for and child education in Nepal. DHMA has been very active in 2015 earthquake Senior Citizens. She is the chairperson of this charitable organization. DHMA ( is an organization to commemorate her parents who were one of the founders of democracy in providing relief work and Senior Citizen Counseling work. She had also provided relief to the earthquake victims through "Nepal Mandal Relief Committee"
